Salary Range: $140,000 to $170,000 - Depending upon Experience

Collins Cole Winn & Ulmer, PLLC (“CCWU”) is a premier local government law firm in Colorado. Formed in 2022, the team at CCWU has been working together for decades. We exclusively provide general and special counsel representation to Colorado’s special districts, municipalities, intergovernmental authorities, and a variety of other forms of local government. Our ideal candidate will have 4+ years’ experience in a law firm or government position working on matters related to Title 31-32 Municipal Government and Special Districts. Experience in Special Districts or a General Counsel role a plus! We will consider other comparable experience, such as land use, real estate, public/private partnerships, employment law, and public finance.

Position Summary: Work involves research, writing, and applying legal knowledge and skills related to our practice. Assignments are performed within an established procedural framework and/or directed by the Partners. Availability for evening meetings and travel within Colorado is required.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Legal Research, Writing, and Editing Skills: Perform legal research and draft legal documents such as contracts, memorandums, ordinances, and resolutions that are clear and logical.
  • Excellent People and Communication Skills: Interacting and communicating in writing, verbally, and in-person with clients, professional consultants, other attorneys, and members of local government councils, boards of directors, and professional staff.
  • Competent Computer Skills: Ability to learn document management, client billing, and other software programs for the purpose of drafting, editing, and sharing documents, sending, and receiving documents, and interfacing with internal staff and clients.
  • Strong Critical Thinking Skills: Problem solving, following instructions, analytical thinking, demonstrating good judgement, and asking questions when necessary.
  • Team Player: Working cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues and clients to answer questions, provide legal advice, and solve problems.
  • Organizational Skills: Meets deadlines, proofreading and detail oriented.
  • Analytical Skills: Knowledge of analysis and research techniques sufficient to gather information, secure and analyze desired information and formulate logical recommendations.

Education and Certifications:

  • Licensed attorney in the State of Colorado in good standing.
  • Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctorate degree.
